Amelia Earhart Day

My dad is from Atchison, Kansas.  What do you mean you've never heard of it?  Next, you're going to say you've never heard of Amelia Earhart!  Oh, you know about her?  Well, obviously you don't know it all.  Otherwise,  you would recognize Atchison as Earhart's birthplace and childhood home.  Today, July  24, 2013, is Amelia Earhart Day, so it's a great day to find out even more interesting tidbits about the famous aviator.  Here are just a few of my favorite books available right here, in your childhood hometown, at Hoover Public Library.
Amelia Earhart by Tanya Lee Stone
Amelia Earhart, Aviation Pioneer by Cynthia Klingel
Amelia Earhart: More Than a Flier by Patricia Lakin
Amelia Lost: The Life and Disappearance of Amelia Earhart by Candace Fleming
Flying Ace: The Story of Amelia Earhart by Angela Bull
Night Flight: Amelia Earhart Crosses the Atlantic by Robert Burleigh
