Apocalypse Later, Funny Books Now
I got a bit behind in my School Library Journal reading. So I just read a May article called Funny Books for Unfunny Times. It did a great job of addressing this fact -- "It may feel as though the world is falling down around your ears, but when push comes to shove, sometimes your mistakes aren’t as earthshaking as you believe them to be." It is NOT the end of the world as we know it. I hope you'll read the article. Then check out some of the books they recommend. Here are a few of my faves.
The Last Last-Day-of Summer by Lamar Giles
Max and the Midknights by Lincoln Peirce
Me and Sam-Sam Handle the Apocalypse by Susan Vaught
Mya's Strategy to Save the World by Tanya Lloyd Kyi
Pie in the Sky by Remi Lai
We're Not from Here by Geoff Rodkey
