Insatiable Readers Meets Saturday, August 12
This month’s Insatiable Readers book group is delving into the world of Participatory Writing. This style cultivates the idea that the best way to learn about something new is to live it! The featured books this month will cover authors’ adventures and experiences from their very own “participatory year.” We will be talking about everything from Shonda Rimes’s My Year of Yes to A.J. Jacobs’s The Guinea Pig Diaries.
There’s an old saying, “Anyone who says they only have one life to live, must not know how to read a book.” Any seasoned reader can relate to that adage in the sense that a good book is not one you simply read, but one you can almost live; even if it is for just a short period of time and only in your mind.
This month’s group is sure to be an interesting one, and for those of you who aren’t quite ready for your “year” just yet… maybe after you read a couple of these books you’ll feel like you've already done it! We would love to have you join us! Insatiable Readers meets one Saturday every month at 10:30am in the Reading Room of the Library Plaza. This month’s group will be meeting Saturday, August 12.
