Meet and mingle with your fellow amateur poets and novelists. Flesh out your characters and tie-up those dangling plot threads! Swap material with other writers, or even read your work aloud. Share your stories and inspirations!

Write Club is a monthly forum for local amateur writers to meet and discuss their work. The goal of Write Club is to inspire and encourage literary involvement in the community by providing an environment in which local authors can network, share their writing and offer each other moral support and constructive criticism.

PowerPoint: Crash Course!

This class gives patrons a crash course in the fundamentals of Microsoft PowerPoint, a
multimedia presentation application. It covers an introduction
to the application and how to perform common tasks.
Microsoft PowerPoint is a digital version of a the traditional
slide show. PowerPoint allows you to organize, illustrate,
and present your ideas in a multimedia presentation.
This class covers the use of clipart, WordArt, charts and
graphs, slide templates and presentation options.
The class is free of charge and designed for all library users

Andrew Raffo Dewar and Brad Davis

Dewar and Davis's performance here will feature a special quadraphonic audio setup that they can rarely perform with.

Andrew Raffo Dewar is a composer, soprano saxophonist, and electronic musician whose work has been performed throughout North America, Southeast Asia and Europe. He appears on nearly two dozen recordings, including work with experimental music innovators Anthony Braxton, Bill Dixon, and others. Dewar is an Associate Professor in New College and the School of Music at the University of Alabama.

A member of Birmingham Public Library's Southern History Department will cover such topics as vital records, courthouse and church records, and the Federal Census.
