Ambient electronic musician Brad Davis will give a brief lecture/demonstration about how music is created with buttons, knobs and wires instead of traditional instruments. A short performance and Q&A will follow. Davis has been a touring musician in a variety of genres for more than 20 years and has played in more than a dozen countries on two continents. In addition to electronic music, he's also an accomplished drummer, keyboard player and occasional singer.
Sean Gaskell plays traditional songs on the kora, a 21 string harp that he learned how to play throughout the course of multiple visits to its homeland in Gambia, West Africa. Gaskell has studied extensively under the instruction of Malamini Jobarteh and Moriba Kuyateh, both of Brikama, Gambia. Gaskell's appearance here will feature both a performance and a Q&A at the end.
