Have a Museum Day

When I first moved to Alabama, I lived in Oxford.  In a neighboring city, there is a wonderful place called the Anniston Museum of Natural History.  We bought a family membership and spent many holidays and weekends exploring the exhibits.  Are you planning a similar excursion to the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, the Birmingham Museum of Art, McWane Science Center, or the Southern Museum of Flight this Spring Break?  Do some prep work!  Check out one of these titles.

After Hours @ the Plaza: Game Nite

Looking for something FUN and FREE to do this Friday night? Gather your friends, your favorite games, and join us for our second round of Game Nite on the Plaza.  Good People Brewing Company will be on hand again with free samples of their delicious local brews (ID requried) and door prizes will be awarded to lucky attendees. In addition to the beer tasting, we'll have popcorn for munching and Coffeeology Coffee Cafe will stay open after-hours.

A Trip to the Zoo

This Just In's March Media

We really stretched our imaginations, our acting skills, and our tech abilities at this month's This Just In! meeting.  After quickly introducing the group to the new books we read, we took a vote -- choosing which title would be featured in our book trailer.  That's right, we used an awesome app on the library's iPad to create a book trailer.  Take a look!

Tonight: 4th Annual Flash Fiction Night

Join us in The Library Theatre tonight at 7:00 pm as members of our Write Club showcase their talent.  Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy selections of original poetry and prose written and performed by club members.  The program is free and open to the public.  Join the event on Facebook and invite your friends!
