It's a busy time of year but we had one regular return for book club this month--Kira! We missed our other book club friends. Kira and Miss Polly shared historical fiction reads and then got busy with creating our own newspaper headlines for that time in history. Next month, we'll be reading award-winning children's books. Stop by the library to pick up a Book Buzz bookmark with reading suggestions or ask one of our friendly librarians in the Children's Dept for a recommendation. Don't forget to call and register or, beginning in January, you can also register online. Either way, we hope to see you there on Monday, January 14 at 6:30 p.m.

Kira - Meet Molly by Valerie Tripp - Molly, an American Girl, expereinces many changes while her father is away fighting in World War II. She discovers that terrible tasting vegetables (mashed turnips!!) can be swallowed with the right added ingredients. She also plans revenge on her brother after he ruins her Halloween with friends. 

Miss Polly - Emily and Jackson Hiding Out by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor - Emily's Aunt Hilda becomes her legal guardian and offers to take in Emily's friend Jackson, too, but watch out! Emily's Uncle Victor dresses up like an old lady as he tries to kidnap Emily and Jackson in his plot to steal Emily's inheritance. A wild west adventure at its very best!
