Books! The Magic Is Real!
Just finished our two-day, five-show magic marathon with Brian Curry! We had 1,497 people fill our Library Theatre for 45 minutes of laughs and AMAZING magic tricks. And we librarians especially enjoyed that all of the tricks were based on our favorite things . . . BOOKS! If you would like to read any of the books that Brian used in his act, you're in luck. We have the master list!
The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss
Classic Optical Illusions (We don't own this one, but go to 152.14 for similar books.)
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling
The Janitor's Boy by Andrew Clements
The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo
Mr. Peabody's Apples by Madonna
A Series of Unfortunate Events: The Reptile Room by Lemony Snicket
Snowflake Bentley by Jacqueline Briggs Martin
Or maybe you're interested in learning how to do magic tricks yourself. If so, just head to the nonfiction section of the Kid Zone, and look for call number 793.8.
