Cassette Tape Wallets
I was a child of the 1980s and a teen of the 1990s. Which means, yes, my music collection consisted of cassette tapes which I played on my Walkman. And, yes, some of my favorite tapes were never converted to CD, so I still rock out to them in my car and on my stereo. And, yes again, I wish I still owned that Walkman.
In this digital age, teens don't need or want cassette tapes in their musical library. But tapes have found a new niche to fill -- as a funky crafting material. That's why the Hoover Public Library's Teen Spot is going to demonstrate how to make Cassette Tape Wallets on Tuesday, September 18 at 6:30 p.m. Teens in grades 7-12 don't have to bring anything; the library will supply all the materials. But we do need to know how many people we're supplying, so call 444-7826 to give us a heads up if you're coming.
