Goosebumps Gross Out

My little sister devoured the R.L. Stine's Goosebumps series when she was a kid. I'm a big chicken, so I wasn't a fan. One of the ways she loved to torment me (as little sisters are required to do) was by sharing the juiciest tidbits from the books. I remember being especially disturbed by the ventriloquist doll that was alive and the Halloween mask that wanted to become your real face. CREEPY!!!

It's been twenty years since she used those books to mess with my head. Amazingly, they are still popular with today's diabolical sisters and devious brothers. And they have more than just the original Goosebumps series at their disposal. They have Goosebumps Horrorland and Hall of Horrors. They also have DVDs -- you don't even have to use your imagination to be completely freaked out!

Since Goosebumps is still alive and kicking, the Kid Zone is hosting a Goosebumps Gross Out for 8 to 12-year-olds on Tuesday, October 9 at 6:30 p.m. All experiments in our mad scientist's lab will be inspired by one of the books. We'll create slime worms, edible skin, drinkable blood, and shrunken heads. Call 444-7833 to register so we can make sure our lab is well-stocked for all interested mad scientist wannabes.

Until then, read as many Goosebumps books as you can. They are located in J STI in Kid Zone fiction. Want to watch a Goosebumps movie? You can find them under the letter G in the Kid Zone's movie section.
