Teen Read Week: October 17-23, 2010
The American Library Association (ALA) and the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) started Teen Read Week in 1998, and it is still going strong. In fact, teen books, like Twilight by Stephenie Meyer and The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, are hotter than ever, even with adults. This year's theme, Books With Beat, inspired teens across the country to vote for their favorite titles of 2010. The Top Ten list was revealed this week. And the winners are . . .
1. Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
2. City of Glass by Cassandra Clare
3. Heist Society of Ally Carter
4. Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
5. Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzgerald
6. Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl
7. Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen
10. Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson
Did your favorite win? Or at least make the nominations list? Want your voice to be heard next year? Vote today for the 2011 theme.
