It's our Ninth Annual Battle of the Teen Bands.  Music fans and summer readers are invited to rock out with three competing teen bands - By Royal Decree, On the Sidewalk, and Thamaturgy - on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 6 p.m.  Each band performs a 20-minute / 3-song set in front of a panel of judges and a live audience.  The winner will receive a $300 grand prize, provided by the Friends of the Hoover Public Library.  Admission and refreshments are free.

Since spring has arrived and the weather has gotten warmer we want to spend more time outdoors and less in the kitchen. We also have a craving for fresh vegetables and grilling. Some new titles to check out in our cookbook collection are:
