Children's Programs

Our book club for 2nd and 3rd graders finished the year with a flood of activity!  We started with riddles and weather sayings from the "Bee Hat."
"How did Ben Franklin feel when he found out lightning was electicity?"  He was SHOCKED.  Many laughs later, we shared our weather-related reads and finished the evening by making sun-catchers. Fun photos here!

Our book recs:

Kira and Liam --Twister on Tuesday by Mary Pope Osborne

Book Buzz, our book club for 2nd and 3rd graders, gathered last RAINY Monday night.  First, the Riddle Hat--"What is a cat's favorite color?" PURRRR-PLE.
Next, we shared books about art, dance, and music. Many of these were picture books where the illustrations were works of art;  most were biographies.

Book Buzz, the book club for 2nd and 3rd graders, met this week to share books with one-word titles.  We welcomed new member, Lydia, and hope she'll be back to join us next month. I must say, you kids are getting pretty skilled at sharing books without revealing the ending.  Everybody leaves with lots of ideas for future reading. Check out these photos of our craft time.

READ--our one-word rec for the following books!

Ben--Socks by Beverly Cleary

Book Buzz, our book club for 2nd and 3rd graders, met last Monday night to share award-winning books for children. Afterwards, we created ribbons for inventive book awards of our own ("Best Book About Rodents"???).  For more photos, follow this link.

Our next meeting is Monday night, February 11, when we'll share "One-Word Wonders"--books with one-word titles.   Check out our bookmarks at the Book Buzz display or ask a librarian for suggestions. Remember to register online or call 444-7830.
