As Veteran's Day 2013 approaches, I am thankful for authors like Chris Lynch. His four-volume Vietnam series does an amazing job of presenting the Vietnam War with honesty and heart. Each short, accessible novel captures the innocence, the cynicism, the honor, and the horror of that war. The series chronicles four best friends who join four different branches of the Armed Forces to serve in Vietnam. Each book focuses on a different young man.
