The mission of the Hoover Public Library’s Business and Law Department is to provide the citizens of Hoover and the business community with the best available resources, services and programs covering a vast array of business and legal topics.

Investment Collection – Kiplinger’s Retirement Report, Kiplinger’s Letter, Standard & Poor’s Stock Guide, Bond Guide, Stock Market Encyclopedia, Trends and Projections, Trendline Current Market Perspective, The Outlook and Morningstar Mutual Funds
Electronic Databases – Business and Company Resource Center, Reference USA and Value Line
Regional Business Section – Information regarding local and state agencies and organizations
Nonprofit / Grants – grant writing guides and foundation directories are available.
The Business and Law Department provides a popular circulating collection of business, law and career books, magazines and newspapers.
Tax Forms – Federal and state tax forms are available.
Services
AARP Tax Assistance – The library is a designated AARP site providing free tax assistance for seniors and those who qualify.
Email and Fax Reference – The Business and Law Department will provide email reference for quick and easy access for specific questions, as well as a fax service for certain materials and/or information.
Funding Information Network
Hoover Public Library's Funding Information Network offers its users free resources and information by providing access to two in-house subscription databases and a large circulating and reference collection of books. Additionally, our users can access free information, webinars and classes remotely by visiting two free websites created by the Foundation Center, www.foundationcenter.org and www.grantspace.org.
Programs
The Business Department also hosts programs on a variety of topics including nonprofits, writing resumes, job interviews and our annual Starting a Business in Hoover program in conjunction with the Hoover Chamber of Commerce and Hoover’s Revenue Department.
