The Great Lakes, also called the Great Lakes of North America, are a series of large interconnected freshwater lakes in the upper mid-east region of North America that connect to the Atlantic Ocean through the Saint Lawrence River. That is a LONG WAY from here. And there are still state-to-state travel restrictions due to COVID. But you can still find out what makes these lakes great with a series of virtual field trips presented by Great Lakes Now. It's easy to find the newest teen titles at the Hoover Public Library. They are shelved along the main hallway outside of the Teen Department and have red stickers covering their spine labels. Practice seeing red when you look for these two titles.
September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month. And the honorary chair for 2020 is my favorite superhero of all time! DC’s Wonder Woman is embarking on a new mission to champion the power of a library card.

During this time of staying safe and distancing from one another the Hoover Public Library will not be accepting applications for teen volunteers. We hope to bring back this wonderful program in the future. As circumstances change and as we make plans for the future, we will update this page with new information as it is forthcoming.
