Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder

A man who needs no introduction, Ricky Skaggs is a 15-time Grammy Award Winner, as well as a 15-time IBMA Award Winner, including accolades for Instrumental Group of the Year, an award Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder have taken home eight times in the last decade. Mandolin master Ricky Skaggs became a member of the Grand Ole Opry in 1982, the youngest person to be inducted at that time. Most recently in 2018, he garnered three more Hall of Fame inductions, the National Fiddler Hall of Fame, IBMA’s Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and country music’s greatest honor, the Country Music Hall of Fame, for a total of six hall of fame inductions in his lifetime. All six awards speak to his ability to masterfully cross genres with versatility in styles and instruments, earning him the distinction of one of bluegrass’s most dynamic live performers and sought after icons.
