As part of Hoover Public Library's mission to provide lifelong learning, test proctoring is offered on Fridays by appointment only.
There is a $20 fee per student.
Please read the following guidelines closely. All students must call to schedule their test at least one week in advance.
The student will:
Schedule all tests at least one week in advance by calling (205) 444-7816 and verify that all testing materials have been received by the library.
Bring appropriate photo I.D.
Call to cancel if unable to keep reserved testing time.
Pay the $20 fee at the Circulation Desk to receive receipt. Payment can only be made by credit card.
Provide payment receipt to the proctor.
Provide stamps, envelopes, etc. if needed.
Contact the testing institution to clarify procedural questions such as incorrect passwords, wrong tests, etc.
Take all online tests using library computers.
Relinquish all electronic devices and personal items not required to complete the test. Failure to to do so will result in the immediate termination of the test, notification to the testing institution and dismissal from our test proctoring services.
The library will:
Provide a quiet, self-contained testing area, located in our Training Center, with a library staff member on Fridays from 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Forward tests via e-mail, fax, mail, FedEx or UPS at the student's expense.
The library will not:
Accommodate requests for unscheduled proctoring.
Accept appointments via email.
Guarantee that the correct material has been received by the testing institution by a specific date.
Download testing software, such as Respondus and LockDown Browser, that is not compatible with our network.
Guarantee that technical problems will not occur when using the library computers.
