Elizabeth Pellathy
Elisabeth Pellathy approaches 21st century art making as a way to weave work and information together - as a means to reveal computational efforts of the machine and allow handwork to be integral. Pellathy's research is rooted in 20th century influences, manifested as 21st century expression and experience. The work of experimenters such as Vera Molnar and Katherine Nash and the collaborative spirit of the E.A.T Journals (Robert Rauschenberg, David Tudor) influence her trajectory and form a lineage to her practice. Pellathy's work has been exhibited in numerous venues, including the Booth Museum, Royal Pavilion and Museums, Brighton and Hove, England; Alfred Ceramic Art Museum, Alfred, NY; San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles, San Jose, CA; Peale Center for Baltimore History and Architecture,Baltimore, MD; Montgomery Museum of Fine Art, Montgomery, AL; Abroms Engel Institute for the Visual Arts, Birmingham, AL. Her most recent exhibit was at Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello, Associazione Culturale Italo-Tedesca, Venice, Italy during the 2019 Venice Biennale.
