The mission of the Hoover Public Library’s Business, Nonprofit, Career and Law area in the Nonfiction Department is to provide Hoover citizens, businesses and nonprofits with dedicated resources, services, programs and support focused on promoting financial success and opportunity.

In addition to a very popular circulating collection of business, law, nonprofit and career books, the Business area offers several specialized resources.

GrantStation(In Library Use Only) GrantStation.com, Inc. offers nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies the opportunity to identify potential funding sources for their programs or projects as well as resources to mentor these organizations through the grantseeking process.

Services

AARP Tax Assistance – The library is a designated AARP site providing free tax assistance. We usually begin taking tax appointments in February each year. Call (205) 444-7816 for more information and to make an appointment.

Tax Forms – A limited amount of federal and state tax forms are available during tax season.

Business Presentation Kits - Our Technology Department has kits that will help you effectively present yourself and your ideas. You can check out a  Projector Kit which includes a digital projector and all the necessary peripherals.

Digital Media Lab - Our Technology Department offers free access to the audio and video equipment and software you need, by appointment only. All Hoover residents with a valid library card in good standing may use the Digital Media Lab.

Programs

The Business Department also hosts programs on a variety of topics including nonprofits, starting a business in Hoover, writing resumes, job interviews and more. We often partner with the Hoover Chamber of Commerce and other local organizations to offer these events. You can find all of our programs at events.hooverlibrary.org
